Traditional Acupuncture

Acupuncture uses very fine needles to influence the flow of qi and restore the body’s natural balance. The needles are inserted into acupuncture points, which are located on the channels or meridians through which the body’s qi flows. There are about 500 recognised acupuncture points, and 100 of these are most commonly used.

In the West, acupuncture is frequently associated with pain relief, or as a method to help stop smoking or other addictions. In fact, acupuncture can be used to treat a wide range of specific symptoms or conditions. The principal aim of traditional acupuncture is to treat the whole person – not just the symptoms – and to help recover the balance between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual.
